CHAPEL HILL, NC, Tuesday, February 9, 2010 – Tamara Cox Baker, Lynne Smyers, and Karen Bonardi have formed a new communications partnership called Hatch. Hatch offers a blend of traditional and new communications including public relations, branding, graphic design, marketing and business development that are custom fit to the needs of their clients. The team of seasoned professionals, each with two decades invested in communications and marketing, met last spring and a spark ignited. Smyers, who is creative director for Hatch, said, "The inspiration for Hatch came from the synergy of our skill sets – and the fact that we were three women with brainstorming energy that was bursting at the seams. The collaborative potential was obvious; we were a natural team." Smyers provides branding, graphics and design services. “Successful communications today must be credible, personalized and speak to communities who care. No longer does a one-size-fits-all campaign work,” said Baker, who develops messaging and public relations strategies. “We also are realists and know that in our current economy, a communications program must be affordable.” Hatch brings considerable national experience to the table. Both Smyers and Baker spent much of their career working with communications agencies in Washington, DC. Baker was relocated to Chapel Hill by GlaxoSmithKline. Much of their focus has been in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biotech, transportation, technology and nonprofits. “The best way for an organization to thrive is to focus beyond survival, listen closely and be attentive to the needs of the customer,” Bonardi said. She provides marketing and business development services, skills she has nurtured helping nonprofits, private clubs and businesses improve their sales and fundraising programs. Before officially launching, Hatch had already begun working with several clients and is optimistic about the opportunities. The right client for Hatch is an organization that knows it has challenges and appreciates how effective communications and positioning can greatly enhance its bottom line. Related Links: |
