Lynne Smyers, Design Diva Lynne Smyers is a talented designer who makes sure the final product is delivered on time (or early) and to rave reviews. She honed her creative skills while generating significant client loyalty during her twenty years working in the communications industry. Before moving to NC in 2008, she was art director at OmniStudio in Washington, DC, where she managed a diverse scope of communication strategies for nonprofits, associations, government agencies, and corporate clients. She was involved in every aspect of client relations, including business development, client account direction, art direction, design, project management, print management, and production, and was responsible for several key re-branding initiatives. Lynne also was a consultant for a newly merged nonprofit association where she developed the membership magazine ACResolution, served as design director, and created all marketing collateral. As a consultant with Stanton Communications, a DC public relations firm, she often partnered on new business development and developed several years’ worth of advertising campaigns for Pepco (PHI Holdings). Previously, Lynne worked in the academic arena, serving as design director for The Penn Stater magazine, the largest alumni publication in the nation. Before that, she worked for Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture, Communications/Public Relations office as the primary designer servicing the arts marketing clients and academic units of the college. Her design career started with The Washingtonian magazine where she worked for six years and was named design director after only two years. Lynne’s ability to work strategically with clients to develop cohesive design systems and branding campaigns creates long-term value and trusted partnerships. When she’s not busy working, she may be outside nurturing her lush gardens created by her husband, Joe, in their greenhouse attached to Lynne’s studio. Joe is a biotech entrepreneur, and for the first time in Lynne’s life, opposites really do attract. |
